Child Safety

As a member of the British Blinds and Shutters Association, Stevens (Scotland) Ltd support fully the ‘make it safe!’ campaign initiated by our trade association. The message is to ‘reduce the risk from looped blind cords and chains’.

As a supplier to the trade we will offer to supply, on request, free of charge either tie back or cleats. We will also be promoting Child Safe devices such as Ultrawand for Aluminium Venetian Blinds and Mono-Control devices for Vertical Blinds.

The basic Safety requirements are as follows:

  1. Make sure all cords are out of reach.
  2. Do not place your child’s cot, bed, highchair or playpen near to a window blind.
  3. Do not put sofas, chairs, tables, shelves or bookcases near to a window blind, as children love to climb.
